An extensive redesign of my earlier community map for Rising Storm 2: Vietnam, created in my spare time and then worked cloesly with Tripwire Interactive to get it into the game. I reimagined the lighting, colour scheme, sky box, created more textures and static props including the LVTP-5 Amtrac vehicle and a lower detailed US Navy ship, for the helicopters to spawn on. I also made the Church building and Water Buffalo among various smaller props. The rest is existing art hand made by the former art team of the game.
This region of Vietnam along the central coast is very flat so I had to use a lot of creativity and come up with interesting ideas for the terrain and make it less repetitive to play through. I exaggerated the mountains in the West to make clearer landmarks out of. The core idea of the map was to include both beach and rural countryside and have players fight their way down the map to experience both these environments side by side. One of the largest maps I've made and I think it's as close to looking like Vietnam as I've been able to get so far.
